yours new crop of models. His great "secret" fer perfect posing con be adopted by any one who cores to make the effort.
First, Forrester really "knew" bis body, having studied it in a circle of mirrors for pontless hours until he had perfect control over each muscle, Such mirror study is no mofestation f conceit than when a voice student prectices his scales. effort seemed too great to him for the sake of ot good plcture. He would not permit "snapshots" nor would he allow himself to be rushed when posing. Ten or fifteen minutes just to select a pose seemed not at all unreasonable to him, though many of the muscle boys we photograph today are incitated 1

RICHARD DU BOIS, one of the handsomest Mr. Americas of all time, he is perhaps also one of the most sensitive and intelligent. Greatly desirous of being an actor, he spent long hours in study and practice. But perhaps a really outstanding build can actually be
a handicap since it may detract attention away from the mon's acting, and arouse actual resentment since the average mon realizes he has very little chance of reaching such fine. development. More moderately developed builds may act as an incentive example, but when Mr Lazy-average-individual sees outstanding superiority he tries to make a joke of it to cover up his piteous feeling of inferiority. So, Mr Du Bois and you others in any field, if you want Boobus Americanus to love you, don't excell him too far! AMG offers 12 photos Du Bois $2.50, 20 catalogs $2., 6 35mm color slides $3. While the picture above was taken a couple of years ogo, Du Bois (in our opinion) looks better than ever, and plans some new photos shortly. He will offer these personally. Letters addressed to him c/o AMG 1834 W 11th St Los Angeles 6, Calif will reach him.

When we asked him what his pet peeve was he said he cant tolerate people who are negelecting their bodies because "they don't know what they're missing."

ARE YOU "OVER-PROTECTING" YOURSELF? The individual who fears all physical activity, who must drive his car when he has only a block or two to go, has an electric blanket in operation every cool night, never "exerts" himself, taking all kinds of pills and concentrates to bolster up his health, strangely enough is usually the first to physically break down--is constantly catching every stray cold or other disease he comes. in contact with, and he falls heir t innumerable aches and pains. He has mistakenly reasoned that his body is like a piece of machinery which will last longer and better if delicately used. On the contrary, unless the body is given some of the resistance for which it was constructed, it often fails to function properly. Indeed, one need not become a full-time athlete to maintain health, but he must plan at least a few activities which place a decided though not necessarily severe strain on the body's musculature. This may be nothing more than walking and light calisthentics for some, various sports for others, or barbell/dumbell training for those who want maximum visible results for the time expended. But unless you are a TB or Cardiac patient, or have been restricted for very specific reasons from physical exertion, you are actually cheating yourself if you do not demand of yourself a little such exertion each day. And think of what a pleasant thing it is to rest after exerting yourself--a pleasure you cannot know unless you have first produced the tired state. Begin today to make your life dynamic. MEMBER OF PRIESTHOOD SUES PHYSIQUE PICTORIAL FOR $35,000.001 On March 31, 1955, Donald Thirkill of Los Angeles filed complaint #642228 in the superior court of the State of California in and for the County of Los Angeles charging that Physique Pictorial had invaded his privacy by publishing his photograph in the March 1954 edition of Physique Pictorial, and that "by reason of these publications this plaintiff's church work with young boys has been highly impaired;......the engagement of this plaintiff to his said fiance has been terminated;....this plaintiff was embarrassed and held up to ridicule by those persons with whom he had previously worked in church work." --foregoing quoted directly from Mr. Thirkill's complaint.
Under sworn testimony, Thirkill admitted this lawsuit had been suggested to him by a Los Angeles newspaper scandal reporter who has developed a quasi-fame for tawdry sensationalism. He further admitted that he did not understand some of the words and phrases used in the complaint, such as the phrase "specific refusal". For that matter, a perusal of the documents prepared by his attorney indicated that that gentlemen too might experience anguishing difficulties with the English language, an example being his invention of the word "deciminated" when it was probable he meant to write "disseminated". Thirkill admitted he had previously offered the case to two other sets of attorneys. At the trial held December 29, 1955 he testified he had become engaged in December of 1954 and the engagement had been broken two months later. His fiance was actually a witness in the case! Physique Pictorial's editor testified that he was a baptised member of the same faith as Mr. Thirkill, had frequently observed him at church and had not noted any hostility to him by other members. Judgment was handed down January 17, 1956, and paragraphs 12 thru 14 of the Findings of Fact read: "That it is Not true that by reason of these publications the plaintiff, Donald Thirkill was embarrassed and held up in redicule (sic) to those persons with whom he had previously worked in church work; That it is Not true that by reason of these publications, plaintiff, Donald Thirkill's church work with young men has been highly impaired; That it is Not true that by reason of these publications the engagement of plaintiff, Donald Thirkill, to his fiance has been terminated. Physique Pictorial was represented by attorney J.B. Tietz who is also chairman of the Legislative Committee of the A.C.L.U.
